I've had these silicone baking pots for a year now and never even used them. Saturday I decided to break these puppies out and make cupcakes for Easter. They were a hit! Below I listed items you'll need for the dessert along with step-by-step instructions to help make these yourself. Enjoy & have a great day!
The Sunflowers were inspired by Dessert Bouquets.
What you'll need
Boxed cake mix
Baking & decorating tools
Yellow food coloring
Silicone baking clay pots
Oreos whole & crushed
Set oven & make cake mix according to instructions on box.
Spray silicone baking pots with cooking spray.
Spoon cake batter into each individual clay pot and set them in cupcake baking tray. Leave enough room for the batter to rise while baking.
Bake as directed.
While cupcakes are baking, mix frosting and food coloring. Heat up frosting and pour into cupcake frosting tool. For best results, put the decorating tool in fridge to help harden the frosting.
Next, crush a few Oreos at a time and set aside. I started with 5 Oreos and added more when needed.
If you cupcakes mix baked lumpy and over filled the baking pots like mine, cut off the tops & level them out.
After you cut the tops, make sure the cupcakes are completely cooled & frost the cupcakes.
Following frosting the cupcakes, dip the tops into the crushed Oreos. Make sure the tops are completely covered with no white frosting showing.
Once the cupcake is covered with Oreo crumbs, put frosting on an Oreo and place on the top of cupcake. The frosting acts as a adhesive that helps stick to the cupcake.
Using the star shaped Icing tip nozzle, do two rows of Sunflower pedals.
& there you have it! Enjoy!
