Toquerville Falls has been on my list to check out for two years now. Really, it was one of my first pins I pinned on my Utah Pinterest Board. I'm so happy I finally got to experience it! Now onto the next Pinterest idea.
Things to know before you go!
The falls are super easy to get to but I would highly suggest having either a four-wheel drive vehicle, ATV or a Can-Am to get there. There is even a sign before the trail starts that states “Extremely Rough Road 4WD Recommended”. The road leading to the falls are rough. It is super bumpy in certain spots with areas that would make it extremely hard with a vehicle that does not have much ground clearance. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the falls.
Cool off and relax! The falls have a nice swimming hole down on the lower level of the falls, as well as several spots to put up a chair and hang out. This makes for a wonderful place to cool off during the hot weather.
Arrive early if you want to take pictures. We went Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, we got there around 2 in the afternoon. There weren't too many people when we arrived but out of nowhere a large group of people came through. We hung out in an area farther down from the falls so we could get away from the crowd. That was really nice. Sunday we decided to go back for a bit before we headed back home. We got there around 8:00 in the morning. It was only us and two other women at that time and they didn't stay long. It was perfect. Had the place to ourselves.
Dogs are welcomed. My boyfriend and I recently got a pup so now we have to plan ahead and make sure that everywhere we go is pet friendly.
Be careful. Rocks are slippery. We let my pup off the leash to run and she almost fell a few times running around on the rocks. Goofy thing!
Camping is allowed & free! On Sunday we passed three sets of people camping. We decided that next time we go we will be camping as well.
Have you ever been to the Falls? I'd love to hear about your experience or even if you have some tips of your own you'd like to share!
